Leisure Connection first off the blocks with Learn2

Leisure Connection will be the first operator to use software provider Gladstone Health and Leisure’s Learn2 management tool for swimming lessons.

The new software, which was unveiled at Leisure Industry Week (LIW) in September, is designed to simplify the swim-school administration process, reduce pressure on staff and improve customer service. Leisure Connection will launch the system at Worcester Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre with a view to eventually rolling it out across all 41 of its swim-school sites.

Key features of Learn2 include:

  • Tailored reports – information on joiners, leavers, the movement of pupils between classes and class occupancy can be viewed as a graph or table, and set against monthly targets.
  • The Teacher – a portable, waterproof, touch-screen device allows teachers to take registers and assess pupils with ease, as well as storing pupil notes.
  • Automated customer contact – Learn2 automatically emails or texts customers when a pupil is approved to move up a class or needs to pay for lessons.

Tara Stroud, head of swimming and children’s activities at Leisure Connection, which caters for more than 26,000 swim pupils a week, said: “Learn2 will take our swimming lesson programme to the next level, as our instructors will be able to spend less time recording attendance and attainment, and more time improving lesson delivery and interacting with their classes. The management of new bookings, re-enrolments and the movement of pupils within the system is also easier and quicker.”

Leisure Connection’s investment in Learn2 follows the signing of a new three-year contract between the operator and Gladstone, which have already worked together for more than 12 years.
